A mezzanotte del 20 novembre lo Stato turco ha iniziato dei bombardamenti su larga scala in tutto il Kurdistan, in Rojava nella zona di Kobanê, tra cui il villaggio di Belûniyê a Shahba (popolato da sfollati curdi di Afrin), il villaggio di Teqil Beqil vicino a Dêrik, la regione di Dahir al-Arab vicino a Zirgan e le aree dei monti Qendil e dei monti Asos nel Kurdistan meridionale in Kurdistan iracheno.
L’attentato del 13 novembre a Istanbul è stato opera dello stesso regime turco, che ha accusato infondatamente PKK (Partito dei lavoratori del Kurdistan), YPG (Unità di protezione del popolo) e YPJ (Unità di protezione delle donne) per giustificare una nuova invasione. Erdogan sta così iniziando la sua campagna elettorale per le elezioni che arriveranno in primavera. Questi attacchi servono anche per coprire la grave crisi interna al paese e per ottenere consenso, nel momento in cui gli exit poll danno il suo partito AKP come perdente. Questa strategia non è nuova, e vuole legittimare una nuova invasione agli occhi della comunità internazionale, criminalizzando l’immagine della donna curda e della legittima resistenza dei popoli del Kurdistan e del PKK. I bombardamenti sulle montagne di Qendil, cuore della resistenza eroica della guerriglia, hanno anche lo scopo di coprire i crimini dell’esercito turco, che da anni lì utilizza armi chimiche vietate dalle convenzioni internazionali.
Come movimento delle donne condanniamo questi attacchi non solo contro il popolo curdo, ma anche contro la lotta delle donne e l’intero progetto del confederalismo democratico, e crediamo sia responsabilità di tutta la comunità internazionale reagire a questa barbarie. Kobane è il simbolo dell’avanguardia delle donne contro lo Stato Islamico e della resistenza dell’umanità alla barbarie.
Invitiamo alla mobilitazione immediata contro questa invasione annunciata. Possiamo organizzare incontri per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica, fare informazione sui canali social e sui media e manifestare davanti ai consolati turchi nelle nostre città.

RETE JIN PRESS RELEASE AGAINST TURKISH STATE ATTACKS IN KURDISTAN
At midnight on 20th November, the Turkish state began large-scale bombings throughout Kurdistan, in Rojava in the area of Kobanê, including the village of Belûniyê in Shahba (populated by Kurdish displaced persons from Afrin), the village of Teqil Beqil near Dêrik, the region of Dahir al-Arab near Zirgan, and the areas of the Qendil and Asos mountains in southern Kurdistan in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The 13th November attack in Istanbul was the work of the Turkish regime itself, which falsely accused PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), YPG (People’s Protection Unit) and YPJ (Women’s Protection Unit) to justify a new invasion. Erdogan is thus starting his campaign for the elections next spring. These attacks are also cover up of the serious crisis within the country and aim at gaining consensus, at a time when exit polls give Erdogan’s AKP party as the loser. This strategy is not new, and is intended to legitimise a new invasion in the eyes of the international community by criminalising the image of Kurdish women and the legitimate resistance of the people of Kurdistan and the PKK. The bombing of the Qendil mountains, the heart of the heroic guerrilla resistance, is also meant to cover up the crimes of the Turkish army, which for years has been using chemical weapons there that are banned by international conventions.
As women’s movement, we condemn these attacks not only against the Kurdish people, but against the struggle of women and the entire project of democratic confederalism, and we believe it is the responsibility of the entire international community to react to this barbarity. Kobanê is the symbol of the vanguard of women against the Islamic State and of humanity’s resistance to barbarism.
We call for immediate mobilisation against this announced invasion. We can organise meetings to raise awareness, inform on social channels and media, and demonstrate in front of Turkish consulates in our cities.
